Most of them will accept your curtains and draperies for cleaning, but that means you have to remove them yourself, take them to the cleaners, wait a couple of weeks, pick them up, take them home and rehang the treatments.
Curtain washing. Really? Sheers may be able to be washed but, the possibility of shrinkage is almost inevitable Soap and water - not recommended.
No matter what the fabric, a professional cleaner is the best choice.
You may be able to find a service that will taken down your draperies, clean them and then rehang them. But, your windows will be bare for the duration of the cleaning. Two weeks, maybe more. You can hang temporary paper shades but, that’s not very attractive.
When the draperies are rehung, they may not look exactly like they were before. The individual panels may have shrunk. Plus the hooks or fasteners had to be removed for cleaning and now must be reinserted before Hanging.
The cost and inconvenience is something that you want to avoid.
There are other considerations, as well. Treatments with lining, especially blackout lining need to be handled with care. Shrinkage could be a problem since the drapery material and the lining are not the same material.
